On Saturday 4th May, EcoTitchfield joined in with the fabulous Titchfield Village Fayre – and what a day it was! Amidst the bunting, classic cars, music and cakes, our stall offered something a little different: a fresh invitation to think local, act wisely, and live more efficiently.

We were thrilled to welcome so many visitors, young and old, to our stand. The highlight for many was our Buzzline Challenge, a fun game with a purpose — helping us think about how to save energy. Dozens joined in, with prizes for the quickest to complete the challenge.

We also gathered some fantastic community input — especially from those taking part in local wildlife spotting. Visitors shared valuable hedgehog sightings, feeding into our growing map of local biodiversity. It was a brilliant example of how grassroots knowledge can help inform broader conservation awareness right here in Titchfield.

Another special moment was the chance for residents to meet Jo Moodie from ‘My Home Made Better’, a newly launched local initiative supporting residents to improve home energy efficiency on a budget. Her presence added even more depth to our message: that small steps start at home, and we don’t have to do it alone with an increasing availability of impartial advice becoming available.

Behind the scenes, the Fayre also gave our campaign a real boost. Thanks to conversations and sign-ups throughout the day, we’ve seen a 15% increase in local supporters, bringing us to around 200 residents now receiving our newsletter and/or following us on Facebook. That’s 200 people taking an interest in living more sustainably — and, we hope, inspiring others to do the same.

We left the Fayre with tired feet but huge smiles. The genuine curiosity and enthusiasm we saw reminded us that community-led change is not only possible — it’s already happening.

If you were there and picked up a Challenge Card, don’t forget to still display it in your window! Seeing cards still displayed around our community is a great inspiration to us all. And if you didn’t make it but want to get involved, it’s never too late — check our Facebook page or sign up on our homepage to receive our newsletter to stay in the loop.

Small steps, big changes.
