Building a Greener Future Together: Thermal Imaging Pilot Success and Next Steps!
We are delighted to share the fantastic success of our recent thermal imaging pilot project, which engaged nearly 40 properties in our conservation area. This initiative was driven by an amazing team of local volunteers, working in partnership with our Sustainability Action Group, to lay the foundation for a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly community.
The aim of the pilot was to develop a proven process for thermal imaging, using the concept of “street coordinators.” These volunteers reached out to their neighbours, organised imaging evenings, and helped make this project a reality. The results have been incredibly encouraging—not only in gathering valuable data but also in strengthening our community’s commitment to sustainability.
Upcoming Event to Share Findings
We are thrilled to announce an upcoming event where local experts will review the findings from the pilot, share practical advice on energy efficiency, and signpost potential solutions for residents. This will be a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved, learn from the results, and look ahead to the next phase.
Heartfelt Thanks to Pilot Participants
A huge thank you to the residents who participated in this pilot phase. Your involvement and feedback have been invaluable, helping us refine the process and giving us the confidence to take the programme to the next level.
Next Steps: Calling for More Street Coordinators!
To expand this initiative, we need more volunteers to step forward as **street coordinators**. This vital role involves engaging around 10 of your neighbours and helping to arrange thermal imaging evenings. By volunteering, you’ll play a key part in driving local action on energy efficiency and creating a sustainable future for our community.
Planning for the Future
As we continue to build a strong compendium of evidence and learnings from this project, our ambition is to engage with our local council. By presenting clear insights into the challenges we face as a village, we hope to collaborate on solutions that will make our community fit for the future. Your participation is vital in shaping this evidence base and demonstrating the importance of action at a local level.
